The Friday 5 - Randomosity again

  1. It's the last night of the world, and you've only just found out. What five things will you do in these final hours?  Eat some ice cream, bother my Husband, pet the kitty, drink the good wine, call people I love.
  2. How do you feel about our American Flag's design?  It's fine.
  3. What pets have you had?  Lots -- dog Megan as a kid, many goldfish through the years (Butch, Henrietta & Squirtle), cat Lina.
  4. What was the last activity you wore a wristband for?  Outpatient surgery last fall -- I had a name band?
  5. What song changed your life? I can't think of just one... lots of important songs at pivotal moments in my life.

I still just love PostSecret

This is one of the cards on [info]postsecret  this week.  Right on.

The Friday 5 - These are lame questions.

1. If you could go back in time to change one choice in your life, what would it be?  I wish I had traveled abroad during college, when I had the time.
2. What would you like your dying words to be?  I really don't want dying words, I'd rather go in my sleep or quickly without need to say anything.
3. If you HAD to change bodies with someone you knew for 1 year, who would it be?  Just bodies?  I want someone with small boobs and strong muscles...
4. Choose your favorite license plate combination. What does it read?  I'd like something that takes a little brains to figure out.  However, it's been a long day and I can't think of any examples.
5. What fantasy world would you live in (i.e., movie, tv show, book)?  I could do with a little magic a la Harry Potter.

Wednesday is Dance Night

After a super-stressful day at work (Corporate was in the building and jobs were at stake... dum dum dum), I am glad to come home and space out and watch...

What is going on here?

So this is what you see if you're standing on my patio right now -- the entire lawn area of our complex is taped off behind Police Tape.  When we came home, there were 3 police cars right inside the entrance, but no idea why.  I got the mail and we stayed inside and now if I went to go walk anywhere, I would have the cross the line.  Not sure if you can see it in the picture, but this line is all the way across the other side of the lawn area.

I'm curious and a little creeped out -- no one around to ask except some gawkers way on the other side of the lawn.  If I went to try and find out what's going on, I'd have to cross the police tape... what the heck?!

I am amused!

Yep, kawaii_not   makes me laugh.

The Friday 5 - Qualities

1. What do you feel is the most important quality in a close friend?  The ability to love and listen and support without judging.
2. What is the one quality in a stranger you'd just met that would make you want to get to know them better? Compassion
3. What do you think is the most important quality in a good leader? How would you say this in one word? -- someone who leads by example, not just action.
4. What is the one thing that makes a child likable to you? The Innocence of curiosity (is that one or two?)
5. What do you think is the one thing that makes a good parent (other than loving their children)? Being open to learning from your children -- teaching them as they teach you in return, and being OK with that -- growing together.

SYTYCD - Top 20!

So excited for:
  • Philip!!
  • Brandon! (ooh, Mad Mary Murphy! I can't take this crap!)
  • Paris!
  • Caitlin!
Sad to see Alex be stuck in his Miami ballet contract... also sad to see that both Kasprzak brothers didn't make it.  The bowtie one (Ryan?) reminds me of Benji Schwimmer a little -- he has good skills but that goofy loveable quality to him.  Not sure what I think of Asuka -- she has skills but just seems like she's lacking emotion which bugs me.  And can I be a snob and say that I'm really happy that most of the Top 20 has normal names, spelled in normal ways?  No Kamerons and Tifphanies and crap like that.

Otherwise, had an OK day again -- work was crazy in its usual ways, but everyone got treated as usual.  I had some credit card BS to deal with that gave me a headache, and I wound up making tacos for dinner which were good.  I keep getting excited realizing that it's almost the weekend, but then I remember that I work on Saturday, so it's not even like that.  Hm.

SYTYCD Auditions -- LA & Seattle

Sorry everyone who doesn't care about SYTYCD, it's all I want to write about so that I'm keeping my week's entries positive (or at least not negative?).  Otherwise, life has been crazy busy and stressful this week and I'm mostly just trying to get through to Saturday.

So You Think You Can Dance is my #1 diversion :)Collapse )
